NFL Wolverine Of The Week

No intro needed this week. Apparently LaMarr Woodley read our last Wolverine of the Week post and he was not happy. Woodley lead his Steelers into battle against fellow Michigan alumni Tom Brady and the super charged New England Patriots. In case you haven’t seen the game let me give you a hint, Woodley and the Steelers owned New England. LaMarr was an absolute beast in the first half recording 2 sacks and becoming the first Steeler to  record multiple sacks in 4 consecutive games. The Steelers would go on to win 25-17 sealing them as the team to beat in the AFC. On a bit of a down note, Woodley hurt his hamstring during the game which may or may not force him to miss time. Congrats and Get well soon.

Honorable Mentions

  • Jake Long- Behind Long the Dolphins almost upset the Giants to get their first win of the season. Long helped Reggie Bush to his second hundred yard rushing performance of his carrier, and helped to control one of the best DE’s in the league, Osi Umenyiora.
  • Steve Breaston- Breaston recorded 3 receptions for 42 yards in the Chiefs overtime win over the Chargers. Might seem like a pedestrian game for Steve but on 3rd and 14 in OT Breaston made a great 17 yard reception to set Kansas City up with the winning field goal. The Chiefs and Breaston have quietly won 4 in a row and have a share of the AFC West division.
