NFL Wolverine Of The Week

A Quiet week for the NFL Wolverines at the skill positions. But Lucky for us 2 O-Lineman stepped up their game. LT Jeff Backus of the Detroit Lions and C David Baas of the New York Giants both had exceptional days. But there can only be ONE NFL Wolverine of The Week and the Honors go to David Baas. Although both players’ teams won big games this was actually an easy decision when you take a close look at the statistics. For the passing game Baas helped Eli to shake off some of his early season rust and allow him to throw 16/23 for 254 yards 4 TDs and no INTs while only allowing 4 sacks (3 of the sacks were because of coverage). On the Flip side Backus and the Detroit OL while impressive only helped Stafford to 2 TDs and no INTs with 5 Sacks. But the biggest differentiator was in the run game. While the Baas and the Giants had a nice game running the ball allowing 102 yards on 25 rushing attempts, Backus and Co were only able to establish an abysmal 20 rushing yards on 19 Attempts. Congrats to David Baas on his NWOTW and the Giants for beating their hated division rivals.
