Michigan: News and Notes 9/7/11

I have a few things I wanted to post about today so I figured I should put them together for a News and Notes segment. Haven’t done one of these for a while.

Looks like I should have held my annual pilgrimage to A2 for this Saturday. Michigan will include the audio file of The Catch, and the play call from Michigan’s head coach at the time Gary Moeller and the sound from QB Elvis Grbac in the huddle will be inside the Program for the game.

As the Big Ten Network releases their Basketball Conference Schedule we see Michigan will open the Big Ten season against Penn State at home on December 29th in a game televised by the Big Ten Network. Putting a beat down on the Nittany Lions is always a good way to start conference play (P.S. I expect Tim Hardaway Jr. to have a break out year, more on that as the season gets closer.)

Last, but not least, if you are in A2 this weekend remember that the Michigan field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer teams will host a care package drive at the U-M Soccer Stadium and Ocker Field. The teams will be working with SVA (Student Veterans of America) and Homefront Hugs to collect items to send overseas to the troops. Folks that bring a care package to soccer will only be charged $1 for admission. Fans who bring an item to field hockey will receive a free promotional item. For a list of items Click Here

Make sure to look out for our ND Game Preview and Prediction, should be posted tomorrow.
