NFL Regular Season Wolverine of the Year Awards

Wolverine Season MVP: Tom Brady. I don’t think this needs to be explained.

Wolverine Rookie of the Year: Zoltan Mesko. Everyone at Michigan knew ZM was the real deal but it only took a few weeks for the rest of the world to catch on. In week 6 Mesko punted 65 yards in overtime forcing the Ravens to start from their 19 yard line(they never recovered). ZM finished the season averaging 43.2 yards a punt.

Wolverine Defensive MVP: James Hall. 11 year journeyman, undrafted, unappreciated; really helped in the St Louis Ram resurgence this year. Finished the season with  54 tackles 6 forced fumbles and 10.5 sacks.

Wolverine Most Improved Player: Super Mario Manningham. In just his 3rd year Super Mario has become the go to guy for a big play in New York. And in a year where most of the Giants Wideouts where hit with the injuries bug MM did all he could to help the Gmen make the playoffs. He finished the season with 60 REC 944 YDS and 9 TDs. Manningham was especially clutch in the final stretch with 3 strait 100 YDs and at least 1 TD the games.

Look later today for the NFL Wolverine of the week Playoff Edition.
